#kull Galakonzert in der Grazer Oper am 22. Februar 2020 // Galakonzert @ Opera Graz on February 22, 2020

Zum Abschluss des 1. Internationalen Cello-Wettbewerbs „Anna Kull“ präsentierten sich die Preisträger*innen der Altersgruppen II & III am 22. Februar beim großen Galakonzert in der Oper Graz. Gemeinsam mit den Grazer Philharmonikern unter dem Dirigat von Ingo Ingensand begeisterten sie das Grazer Publikum mit Cello-Werken von Haydn, Elgar und Saint-Saëns. Damit endete auch die erste Ausgabe des Cello-Wettbewerbs, der ab dem 10. Februar 70 junge Cellist*innen aus 28 Nationen an die Kunstuniversität Graz führte. In drei Altersgruppen konnten sich die talentierten Nachwuchsmusiker*innen hier vor einer hochkarätigen, internationalen Jury präsentieren und neben dem professionellen Feedback viele neue Erfahrungen und Eindrücke aus Graz mitnehmen.

Eine einmalige Chance für das Publikum, im eindrucksvollen Rahmen der Oper Graz junge Musiker*innen zu erleben, die noch eine spannende internationale Karriere vor sich haben dürften! Die jungen Nachwuchsmusiker*innen bekamen wiederum die besondere Gelegenheit, sich in einem professionellen Rahmen einem großen Publikum zu präsentieren. Damit sammeln sie nicht nur wichtige Live-Erfahrungen, sie erhalten auch neue Möglichkeiten, Kontakte zu knüpfen. Neben Sonderpreisen und dem großen Galakonzert warteten auf die Preisträger*innen des ersten „Anna Kull“-Wettbewerbs auch Konzerte bei der Jeunesse, im Musikverein Graz oder bei der styriarte. Im Rahmen der KUG-Abo-Saison 2020/21 werden die ersten Preisträger*innen der Kategorien II und III auch mit den LGT Young Soloists am 23.10.2020 [Anm.: verschoben auf 21.10.2021 aufgrund der COVID-19-Pandemie] im Grazer Stefaniensaal auftreten.

At the end of the 1^st International Cello Competition "Anna Kull", the prizewinners of age groups II & III presented themselves on February 22^nd at the big gala concert @ Opera Graz. Together with the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Ingo Ingensand, they delighted the Graz audience with cello works by Haydn, Elgar and Saint-Saëns. This also ended the first edition of the cello competition, which brought 70 young cellists from 28 nations to the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. In three age groups, the talented young musicians were able to present themselves to a top-class, international jury and - in addition to professional feedback - to gain many new experiences and impressions from Graz.

A unique chance for the audience to experience young musicians in the impressive setting of the Opera House Graz who should still have an exciting international career ahead of them! The young up-and-coming musicians were given the special opportunity to present themselves to a large audience in a professional setting. This not only gives them important life experience, but also gives them new opportunities to make contacts. In addition to special prizes and the big gala concert, the prizewinners of the first “Anna Kull” competition also will be invited to give concerts at the Jeunesse, the Graz Musikverein and the Styriarte. As part of the KUG subscription season 2020/21, the first winners of the age groups II and III will also perform with the LGT Young Soloists on October 23, 2020 [note: postponed to October 21, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic] in Graz Stefaniensaal .
